The speed of the stream is 2 km/h .

Given :

Time taken by boat to covers a distance of 1 kilometer in downstream is 6 minutes .

Also , time taken by boat to covers a distance of 6 kilometer in upstream is 1 hour .

Let , speed of stream be v and speed of boat be u .

Therefore , equation of both the case is :

u+v=\dfrac{1}{\dfrac{6}{60}}\\\\u+v=10\ \ \ \ \........( 1)

and

u-v=\dfrac{6}{1}\\\\u-v=6\ \ \ \ \........(2)

Solving both the equations we get ,

u = 8 km/h and v = 2 km/h .

Hence , this is the required solution .
