12 km upstream in 48 min. ⇒ it will cover 15 km in 1 hr. Speed of stream = 2 km / hr. ∴ Speed of boat in still water = 15 + 2 = 17 km / hr.

Answer:

The speed of boat in still water will be 4 km/hrs.

Step-by-step explanation:

See here the boat travels the same distance twice and at first it took 12hrs and in the second journey it took 3hrs.

Therefore, total distance is - 30 + 30

= 60 km.

total time taken is - 12 + 3

= 15 hrs.

So, the speed of boat is, Total Distance

the speed of boat is, Total Distance Total Time

the speed of boat is, Total Distance Total Time = 60

the speed of boat is, Total Distance Total Time = 60 5

the speed of boat is, Total Distance Total Time = 60 5 = 4 km/hrs.
