A boat goes 15 km upstream and 22 km downstream in 5 hours. It goes 20 km upstream and 55 km downstream in 13 hours. What is the speed (in km/hr) of stream?

We have been given that

A boat goes 15 km upstream and 22 km downstream in 5 hours after that it goes 20 km upstream and 55 km downstream in 13 hours.

Then, Total distance of upstream = 15 + 20

                                                       = 35 km

Total distance of downstream = 22 + 55

                                                  = 77 km

So, total distance = 35 + 77

                              =  112 km

Total time = 5 + 13

                 = 18 hrs

Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

           =  \frac{112}{18}

Speed = 6.22\frac{km}{hrs}
