A boat goes downstream and cover the distance between two ports in 5 hours while it covers the same distance upstream in 11/2 hours. Find the speed of boat in still water if the speed of stream is 3/2 km/hours. The answer of this question is 31.5 km

speed of stream is 's'

if the distance is same

downstream*time=upstream*time

(m+s)*5=(m-s)*11/2

by solving m/s=21p/1p

speed of the stream 's' is 1.5

if 1p=1.5

  21p=31.5
