a boat goes downstream in 8 hrs it cover same distance upsteam in 12 hrs . if the speed is 2 km/hr .find speed of steam in still water , distance covered by boat

Hey dear friend, here is your answer.................. :-)
Let the speed of the boat in still water be x km/hr
Speed of boat in upstream = (x-2)
Speed of boat in downstream = (x+2)
And, Distance = s×t
A/Q
8(x+2)= 12(x-2)
8x+16= 12x -24
16+24=12x-8x
40= 4x
x= 10.
Distance = 8(10+2)
= 8× 12
=96. Km. Ans
