A boat having a length 3 m and breadth 2 m is floating on a lake. the boat sinks by 1 cm when a man gets into it.

According to Archimedes Principle, The mass of the man is the mass of water displaced when he gets on the boat.

volume of water displaced = 3m × 2m × 0.01m = 0.06 m³

density of water = 1000 kg/m³

mass of water displaced = density × volume = 1000×0.06 = 60 kg

Hence, mass of man is 60 kg.
