A boat sails 12 km towards north and then 35 km towards east. Find the distance between the starting point and the the stopping point of the boat.

By pythagoras' Theorem,
in a right angled triangle,
(H*H)=(P*P)+(B*B)
Here,The distance between starting and stopping point of the boat will be H.
(H*H)=(12*12)+(35*35)
(H*H)=144+1225
(H*H)=1369
H=37
So,the distance between starting and stopping point is 37 km.
