According to the mathematical formula:

If the upstream speed is x km/hr and the downstream speed is ykm/hr.

Then speed in the still river will be;

1/2(x+y) km/hr.

Now according to the data mentioned in the question:

Downstream speed = 100/10 = 10km/hr

Upstream speed = 75/15 = 5 km/hr

So,the speed in still water will be;

[1/2 (10+5) ] km/hr

= (15/2) km/hr

= 7.5 km/hr (answer)
