we know that,

Tdownstream=s/VB+Vw [s=distance]

4=S/Vb+Vw

Vb+Vw=S/4-----equation 1

we know that,

Tupstream=S/Vb-Vw

6=S/Vb-Vw

Vb-Vw=S/6------equation 2

From equation 1 and 2

Vb+Vw=S/4

Vb-Vw=S/6

2Vb=S/4+S/6

2Vb= 3S+2S/12

Vb=5S/24

They asked time taken by boat to travel the same distance in still water

So, t=S/Vb [S=Distance, Vb= velocity of boat]

t=S/5S/24 [we got Vb=5S/24]

t=24/5

t=4.8 hrs
