A boat travels 10km upstream and 30 km downstream in 10 hours. The same boat travels
40km upstream and 55 km downstream in 13 hrs. Find the speed of water current and
speed of boat in still water.​

Let the speed of the boat in still water be x km/hr and the speed of the stream by y km/hr. Therefore, time taken by the boat to cover 30 km upstream = 30 x - y hours and the time taken by the boat to cover 24km downstream = 44 x + y hours.
