The water displaced is 200 kg
Given:
The weight of the boat = 200kg
To find:
The weight of water which is displaced
Solution:
According to Archimedes' principle, in condition of floating
An object floats on liquid surface or floating submerged in fluid, then weight of the displaced liquid is equal to weight of the object.
Thus, a boat floats if any boat displaces the weight of water which is equal to weight of that boat.
Every ship and submarine should be designed in such a way that it could displace weight of fluid which is equal to weight of the ship or submarine.
Now,
Given that weight of boat floating on water = 200 kg.
Thus by following the rule of Archimedes' principle, weight of water ‘displaced’ = weight of boat = 200 kg
