Given

Body accelerates from rest.

Time taken = 5 seconds.

Uniform acceleration = 9.8 m/s²

To find

Final velocity of body

Solution

Here, as the body starts from rest,

⇒ Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s

⇒ Time (t) = 5 seconds.

⇒ Acceleration (a) = 9.8 m/s²

We know equation of motion :

⇒ v = u + at

Putting values we get :

⇒ v = 0 + (9.8 × 5)

⇒ v = 0 + 49

v = 49 m/s

Therefore,

Final velocity of body is 49 m/s

More equations of motion :

v² = u² + 2as

s = ut + ½at²

a = (v - u)/t
