A body can have zero average velocity but not zero average speed , why?

The reason is that average velocity is displacement by time and displacement can be zero but average speed is distance by time and distance can never be zero.

we know that rate of change of velocity is called displacement. and displacement will be zero but distance can not be zero... so average velocity will zero
