The moment of inertia of the system = 0.25 Kg m²

Length of the rod = l = 50 cm = 0.5 m

Mass of the two bodies  = 2 kg each

The two equal masses are attached to the ends of the rod . The center of mass of the system will be the midpoint of the rod (l/2).

Moment of inertia = mass × distance from the center of the mass

Moment of inertia of the system about the center of mass  = m×(l/2)² + m×(l/2)²

=> ml²/2

=> 2 × 0.25 /2

=> 0.25 Kg m²
