A body continues to be in motion even when the force applied to set the body in motion is withdrawn provided no friction is there. Explain.

"if a body is in rest position it will remains at rest until and unless some external force is applied, similarly if a body is in motion and suddenly the force is withdrawn the body will move(due to inertia) until and unless any external force is applied."

External forces like friction , gravity etc.

if these are absent (Ideal condition) then body obeys Newton's first law of motion.
