A body covered a distance of x meter along a semicircular path. Calculate the magnitude of displacement of the body , and the ratio of distance to displacement ?​

answer : π : 2

distance is the length of path covered by particle and displacement is the shortest distance covered by particle between two points.

here, A body covered a distance of x m along semicircular path.

so, distance covered of body = circumference of semicircular path

= 1/2 × 2πx

= πx m

displacement covered by body = diameter of semicircular path

= 2x m

so, the ratio of distance to displacement = πx/2x = π/2

hence, answer is π : 2
