A body covered a distance of z meter along a semi circular park. Calculate The magnitude of displacement of the body and the ratio of the distance to displacement ?

Distance is the actual path covered by the body

Distance covered= perimeter of the semicircle = π r

As the distance covered by the body = z m

Hence ,

Z= π r

r = Z/π

we know that displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and final position

Displacement = 2 r = 2 Z/π

Ratio of distance to Displacement

= Zπ / 2Z

= π/2

The ans is π /2
