A body covers 20m in 2minutes calculate its speed in meter per second and km per hour

Given:-

• Distance covered , d = 20m

• Time taken , t = 2min

To Find:-

• Speed (S) of body in m/s & km/h

Solution:-

Firstly we convert the unit here

1 min = 60s

∴ 2min = 2×60 = 120s

Now we know that ,

→ Speed = Distance/time

The speed of body in m/s

→ S = d/t

Substitute the value we get

→ S = 20/2

→ S = 10m/s

∴ The speed of body in m/s is 10m/s.

Now speed of body is km/h

Here we convert the unit

1km = 1000m

∴ 20m = 20/1000km = 0.02km

And time

1hour = 60min

∴ 2 min = 2/60 = 1/30= 0.03

→ Speed = distance/time

→ Speed = 0.02/0.03

→ speed = 0.66km/h

∴ The speed of body in km/h is 0.66km/h.
