Solution:-

By using 2nd equation of motion

s = ut+1/2at²

Substitute the value we get

→ 9 = 0 ×t + 1/2×a×3²

→ 9 = 1/2×a×9

→ 9×2 = a×9

→ a = 18/9

→ a = 2m/s²

Now, calculating the distance covered by body in 1st second.

→ Sn = u +a/2 (2n-1)

→ Sn = 0+ 2/2 (2×1-1)

→ Sn = 1 ×1

→ Sn = 1m

Therefore, the distance covered by the body in 1st second is 1 metre.
