A body covers the first one-third of the distance with a
velocity of 10 m/s, the second one-third with a velocity of
20 m/s and the last one-third with a velocity of 30 m/s. The

Answer:

16.36

Explanation:

Distance = Speed×time

Hence if we take distance as X then

T1 = (X/3)/10.

T2 = (X/3)/20

T3 = (X/3)/30

Now applying the same thing for the whole course,

Velocity = Distance / time

= X/(T1+T2+T3)

Substitute the values...

= X /[ X/30 + X/60 + X/90]

Taking LCM,

= 1/[(6+3+2)/180]

= 1/(11/180)

= 180/11

Which is approximately = 16.36

Hope that helps. I tried to keep it simple.
