a body floats 2/9 of its volume above the surface what is the ratio of the body submerged volume to its exposed volume write it as a rational number

here is your answer...

if 2/9th of the volume of the body floats above the surface, then this is the exposed volume..

then, the submerged volume is 9/9 - 2/9 , as the remaining will be inside the surface.

which is 7/9..

now coming to the ratio.. ratio is just the division of two numbers.

p/q is the way of representing rational numbers... this format could also be used to represent ratio.

we have to find the ratio of submerged volume to it's exposed volume.

submerged is 7/9 , where as exposed is 2/9..

now, we will just have to divide the answers...

which is

 \frac{ \frac{7}{9} }{ \frac{2}{9} }

this will be

 \frac{7}{9}  \times  \frac{9}{2}

9 will be cancelled out..

  \frac{7}{2}

this is the ratio...
