FINAL ANSWER:

5 kg

GIVEN:

body gets 10 meter per second

doing work of 500 joules

h = 10 meters

m = ?

g 10 m/s

PE = 500 J              or                  Wd = 500 J

TO FIND:

Mass of the body

FORMULA USED:

PE = m×g×h

SOLUTION:

As the object gets closer to the ground, its potential energy decreases while its kinetic energy increases .

∴ PE = m×g×h

  500 = m×10×10

  500 = 100×m

      m = \frac{500}{100}

      m = 5 kg
