Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and the final positions.

Displacement: Shortest distance travelled by body
North and East are perpendicular to each other.

Displacement covered by body is Hypotenuse of right angled triangle formed.

So, by using Pythagoras theorem
Displacement = √(10² + 20²) = 22.36 km
