a body has a weight of 10 kg on the surface of earth what will be its mass and weight when taken to the centre of earth
Sanketkumar0909:
Weight = mass x gravity at that point At centre of earth gravity is zero because g is GM/radius^2.So mass will be also zero.

Hello Mate!
To get the answer we must know that what mass and weight actually are. The two terms whuch are used in olace if each other are scientifically different.
Mass is the content inside body or in other words its measure if inertia. It remains constant.
Weight is none other than gravitational firce with which we are attracted towards ground. Weight of body is constant and product of its mass and acceleration. Hence Weight and force have same formulas.
= Since we know that gravitational force is 0 in the core of earth so weight if body will also be zero but mass will remain same.
Have great future ahead!

Mass is constant as it does not depend on force, so in the centre of the earth mass remains same
Weight depends on the gravitational pull of earth and distance from centre of the earth
As the distance is zero, weight is zero
