Some important points:

  • According to the Archimedes principle the upthrust is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced.
  • The weight of the fluid is directly proportional to the density of the fluid.
  • It is also dependent on the relative density of the object which is emerged in the liquid with respect to the the density of the liquid.
  • Also if the body has an upthrust more than that of the weight of the body then the body will float otherwise it will sink.
