a body in motion travels some distance with speed V1 in time t, and remaining distance at same V2 speed show that its average speed is V1 + V2/2

With speed V1 in time t , distance travelled is V1t. ( Distance = Speed ×Time)

With speed V2 in same time, distance travelled = V2t

Total distance travelled = V1t + V2t

Total time = 2t

Average speed = Total distance / total time

= V1t + V2t / 2t

= V1 + V2 /2
