when it falls from a height h it rebounds and reaches to a height (e square) h height so

h2 = (e x e) h1  ask me if u need the proof of it too

=> e = square root(h2/h1)

Answer:

e=(h2/h1)^1/2

Explanation:

We know that e=v2/v1---------------(i)

here the body falls from height h1,

therefore, u1=0 and v1 is the finial velocity.

Now, when body strikes with the ground and  rebounds from the ground

u2=0 and it covers the maximum height (h2) with v2 velocity.

now by applying equation of motion in eq.(i), we get,

v2/v1=(u2^2+2gh2/u1^2+2gh1)^1/2

by puting the values of u1 and u2 we get,

v1/v2=(2gh2/2gh1)^1/2

or, v2/v1=(h2/h1)^1/2
