a body is allowed to fall freely , and it reaches the ground with a velocity of 28 m/s calculate the height

shreyaa: i forgot to complete it
shreyaa: calculate the height from which it was dropped
Basilisk: wait i acn give u answer
Basilisk: a data of time is missing
Basilisk: provide the time to hit the ground.
Basilisk: please provide the time in comment box.
shreyaa: time should be found too only acceleration due to gravity is given (g=10m/s)
Anonymous: only height is asked
Anonymous: now reload and select any best answer
justsreyeshway: your answer is 39.8m,and u hav to find the time additionally( t =2.85sec)

it can be calculated
v^2-u^2=2gh
free fall so u=0 v=28 m s^-1
28^2=2(10)h
h=39.2 m
gt=v
t=2.8s

Basilisk: Thanks for providing me with the time computation

Given :
velocity  v = 28 m/s
v= gt
t =v/g
  = 28/10
   = 2.8 sec
we know  h = 1/2( g* (t* t) )
let t = 2.8 sec
 h =  1/2 (10 ) ( 2.8 ²)
 h = 39.2 m
