From the formula
h = ut + \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2}
u=0 m/sec
h=1000m
g=10m/sec^2
h = (0)t + \frac{1}{2} (10) {t }^{2} \\ 1000 = \frac{1}{2} \times 10 \times {t}^{2} \\ \: {t }^{2} = \frac{1000 \times 2}{10} \\ {t }^{2} = 200 \\
Therefore t=10√2 seconds
