    ∴ u = 0

       a = g           (gravity)

      S = 8000cm = 80 m

Let the time taken to reach the ground be 't'.

Using:         S = ut + 1/2 at²

                   80 = 0(t) + 1/2 g (t)²

                   80 = 1/2 (9.8) t²        

                (2*80)/(9.8) = t²

                    16.32 = t²

                   4.02 = t

∴ Time taken to reach the ground is 4.02 s.

[for g = 10 m/s²]     80 = 1/2 (10)t²

                               4 = t

Time = 4 s
