QUESTION⤵️

A BODY IS DROPPED FROM A HEIGHT h OF ABOVE THE GROUND. FIND THE RATIO OF THE DISTANCES FALLEN IN FIRST ONE SECOND FIRST TWO SECOND,FIRST THREE SECOND. ALSO FIND THE RATIO OF DISTANCES FALLEN IN 1st SECOND, In 2nd SECOND, AND in 3rd SECOND ETC.

ANSWER⤵️

from second equation of motion , i.e., h= 1/2gt^2

(h= ut+1/2gt^2 and u=0)

h1:h2:h3......

= 1/2g(1)^2 : 1/2g(2)^2:1/2g(3)^2

= 1^2:2^2:3^2.......

=1:4:9....

Now from the expression of distance travelled in nth second Sn = u+1/2a(2n-1)

here u=0 and a=g

so, Sn=1/2g(2n-1)

therefore, S1:S2:S3.....

= 1/2g(2×1-1): 1/2g(2×2-1): 1/2g(2×3-1)

= 1:3:5
