The body will rise to height 2.048 m after rebounding twice.

Explanation:

Given:

Body is dropped from height of 5 m

Coefficient of restitution is 0.8

To find out:

The height to which the body will rise after rebounding twice

Solution:

h=5 m

e=0.8

When the body is dropped then after first rebounding it will reach height

h_1=e^2h

And after second rebounding it will reach the height

h_2=e^2h_1

\implies h_2=e^2\times e^2h

\implies h_2=e^4h

\implies h_2=0.8^4\times 5

\implies h_2=2.048 m

Hope this answer is helpful.
