A body is dropped from the top of a tower and the
other is projected vertically upwards. Can the accelaration
due to gravity be the same?

Answer:

As the second body goes up and comes down and meets the first body, the displacement of the second body is same as that of the first body.

And also when the second body reaches the point of projection, its speed will be same as the speed of projection, let it be u.

For first body, initial speed is zero.

V

2

=2gh

For second body,

V

2

−u

2

=−2gh

From these two equations,

2V

2

−u

2

=0

⇒u=2

V
