A body is falling from a height .after it has fallen height h/2 what happen which energy increases or decreases

As the initial velocity of the body (u) was 0 m/s when it was at certain height .so its kinetic energy will also become o JOULE.But its initial velocity(u) changes to final velocity(v) when it  is released from certain height in which body comes in motion.

Now as we know that potential energy depends upon height so when the body was at certain height is potential was more than that when its height became half i.e h/2
