The distance traveled is simply half the circumference of the circle: pi*R. The displacement is the change in position of the object, usually expressed as a vector. However, the magnitude of the displacement is simple. This is straight line distance from the starting point to the end point, which is just 2R.

radius =R
distance along a circular path =circumference of the circle =
2\pi \: r
=2 × 22/7 × R
to cover half a revolution = 1/2 × 2 × 22/7 × R
=
\pi \: r
since 22/7 = pie

displacement to complete half a revolution =
diameter of the circle =2×R
=2R
