Explanation:

Body is moving with deceleration.  

From laws of motion, displacement and deceleration are related as  

S = ut - at^2/2   (a is negastive)

This is a parabola equation with and going down slowly in the beginning and falling quickly to Zero.  

Slope = dS/dt = u - at = v

dS/dt is final velocity.  

Hence the displacement vs. time graph slope gives the instantaneous velocity.  

The graph is as shown in figure attached.
