No, it's velocity doesn't remain unchanged. It changes when the boy changes his direction at the corner of the square plot. Velocity is constant when both its magnitude and direction are constant. It changes when either the direction or the magnitude(speed) changes. Here, speed is constant but direction is changing. So velocity is not constant.

NO VELOCITY WILL NOT BE CONSTANT , IT WILL CHANGE WHEN THE BOY WILL CHANGE HIS DIRECTION OR IF THE MAGNITUDE OF SPEED.WHEN HE IS MOVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE HE MIGHT HAVE CONSTANT VELOCITY BUT AS HE TURNS HIS DIRECTION HIS SPEED WILLL SURELY VARY !
