A body is moving in a circular path with acceleration a. If its velocity gets doubled then find

the ratio of acceleration after and before the change of velocity ?

Here's your answer....



when an object moves in circular path with constant speed


then it acceleration is given as


a = v²/R


now we have


a₁ = v²/R


when speed is doubled then acceleration is given as

a₂ = (2v)²/R

a₂ = 4v²/R


now the ratio of final and initial acceleration will be


a₂/a₁= 4v²/R / v²/R


so it will be


a₂/a₁


so the ratio of acceleration will be 4 : 1
