Given: Initial velocity,u= 50m/s ,  Final velocity, v=20m\s , Time, t= 3s

To find: Acceleration, a=?

Solution:

Using Newton's 1st equation of motion, v= u+at, we get,

              20 = 50 + a(3)
              20-50 = 3a
             -30 = 3a
              a = -30/3
          ∴ a = -10m/S^2
