A body is moving with a uniform acceleration. Its velocity after 5 sec is 25m/s and after 8 seconds it is 34 m/s. Calculate the distance it will travel in the 10th second.

here
u = 25
v = 34
t1= 5
t2=8

a= v-u/t2-t1
= 34-25/8-5
=9/3
=3 m/s^2

dist. covered in first 5 sec. = u×t1
5×25
=125 m.

now acceleration= 3 m/s^2 for rest time
therefore,
rest time in 10 s = 10-5
=5s.
s= ut+1/2at^2
=5×25 + 1/2 3×5×5
=125+ 37.5 m
=162.5

total dist. = 162.5+125 m
= 287.5 m
