velocity of body = 1 m/sec
force = f
let mass of body = m
then, acceleration of body = -f/m
acceleration is negative because this oppose the motion of body

now,
use kinematics equation,
V² = U² + 2aS
0 = 1² -2f/m .x

x = m/2f -------(1)

now , for second case

similarly,
V² = u² +2a'S
0 = 3² +2a' x

put x = 2f/m

2a' × m/2f = -9

a = -9f/m

hence, magnitude of acceleration = 9f/m

now,

F = ma
F =m × 9f/m = 9f

hence, force = 9f
