Question :--- a body is projected horizontally from the top of a hill with 30m/s .. If g=10m/s² , the velocity of that body after 4 seconds is ?

Solution :---

it is given that body is projected horizontally with a velocity of 30m/s.

So,

→ ux = 30m/s

→ ax = 0

So,

→ vx = 30m/s . { For whole Time. }

Now, Along vertical axis,

→ uy = 0

→ t = 4 second .

→ ay = 10m/s²

→ vy = ?

we know that , vy = uy +ayt

Putting values we get,

→ vy = 0 + 10*4= 40m/s

So, magnitude of velocity of body after 4s will be :--

→ √{(40)²+(30)²}m/s

→ √(1600+900) m/s

→ √(2500) m/s

→ 50 m/s ...

Hence, Velocity of body After 4 second will be 50m/s.
