Answer:height = 180 metres

Explanation:

We know that for horizontal projection range= speed ( 2* height / g ) ^1/2.

Substituting values of range , speed , and g (acceleration due to gravity ) we get

75=12.5*(2*h/g)^1/2

Calculating we get

h=180 metres.

Hope it helps .

When a body is projected horizontally from the top of tower with speed  of 12.5 m/s strikes the ground 75 m away from the tower ; height of tower is 180 m

Explanation:

A body is projected horizontally from the top of tower

initial speed (u) = 12.5 m/s

 Horizontal Range (R) = 75 m

we know

R = uT

T = \sqrt{\frac{2H}{g} }

R = u\sqrt{\frac{2H}{g} }

R = 12.5\sqrt{\frac{2 X h}{10} }

Squaring both sides

75² = (12.5)² X H/5

5625 x5/156.25 = H

180 m = h

Height of the tower is 180 m
