You have to resolve the velocity vector into two rectangular components . Since the body is projected horizontally, its vertical component would be zero . But the vertical component is in the influence of gravity so it's velocity would increase with the passage of time, but the horizontal component would remain constant as it is not influenced by any retardation or acceleration. Here the air resistance is neglected as always. The main answer is linked , this info is just for building some basic.
