Given :

The horizontal range of the projectile is equal to the maximum height attained by the projectile .

To find :

SIn, cosine or tan function of angle of projection or angle itself .

Solution :

range = ( u^2 sin2θ ) / g

height = ( u^2 sin^2θ ) / 2g

where , u is initial velocity and θ is the angle of projection .

Now ,

range = height

=> ( u^2 sin2θ ) / g = ( u^2 sin^2θ ) / 2g

=> 2 cosθ = sinθ / 2

=> tanθ = 4

The angle of projection with horizontal theta is such that tanθ = 4 .
