A body is projected in vertically upward direction.
If distance covered by the body in third sec is equal
to the distance covered by the body in fourth sec.
Find out maximum height attained by the body?
(1) 90 m
(2) 60 m
(3) 180 m
(4) 45 m

Hii buddy!

When a body is projected upwards it is acted by gravitational force.

The distance travelled by the body in the precceding second is always more than the distance covered in the next second.

For these distances to be equal the ob ject must reach the maximum height in the precceding second, that is in our case 3rd second.

So, we know that

v = u +at ( v = 0 at maximum height)

0 = u - g * 3

u = 30 m/s.

Now we will find the max height ,

h = u {}^{2}  \div 2g

H = 30 * 30 / 20

H = 45 m.

Hope it helps you.
