Given : A body is projected obliquely from the horizontal ground.

To Find : Its speed is minimum at

(A)point of projection

(B)point where it lands on the ground

(C) maximum height

(D)middle of its motion of ascent

Solution :

Velocity has two components

Vertical velocity & horizontal Velocity

Horizontal Velocity will remain constant

Hence Speed will be minimum when vertical velocity  is Minimum/Zero

Vertical velocity is Zero at Maximum height

Hence speed is minimum at maximum Height

A body is projected obliquely from the horizontal ground. Its speed is minimum at   maximum height

HELLO DEAR,

GIVEN:- A body is projected obliquely from the horizontal ground .Its speed is minimum at__________.

SOLUTION:-The above motion is a projectile motion .There are two components of intial velocity u.

i) In horizonatal direction ( u coseQ)

ii) In vertical direction. ( u sineQ)

Here horizontal component is constant (acceleration=0)

But vertical component is not constant ( acceleration= -g).

So, at the maximum height point velocity will minimum or zero .

H=( u^2 sin^2Q)/(2g).

Therefore option (C) at maximum height is correct.

I HOPE IT'S HELP YOU DEAR,

THANKS.
