See,

Maximum Height = H = u^2/2g

By equation of motion,

 v^{2} =u^{2} -2g(H/2)

 v^2=u^2-2g(u^2/4g)

 v^2=u^2-u^2/2

 v^2=u^2/2

therefore,

 v= u/\sqrt{2}
