if A body is projected with velocity u at an angle \theta with horizontal.

then, velocity after time t, v=ucos\theta\hat{i}+(usin\theta-gt)\hat{j}

Time of flight , T = \frac{2usin\theta}{g}

horizontal range, R = \frac{u^2sin2\theta}{g}

maximum height attained by body, H = \frac{u^2sin^2\theta}{2g}

trajectory of motion of body, y=xtan\theta-\frac{gx^2}{2u^2cos^2\theta} this is standard form of parabolic equation. so, path of body must be parabolic.

in case of projectile motion, acceleration along horizontal direction will be zero and acceleration along vertical direction will be acceleration due to gravity which always directs vertically downward.
