A body is simultaneously given two forces acting one 30 N due east and other 40 N due
north. Find the resultant force .

Explanation:

The forces are acting at perpendicularly to each other (that is at an angle of 90)

Hence resultant force is √A²+B²

= √(30)² + (40)² = √2500 = 50N
